Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig November 21, 1983) is an American actress best recognized for her performances as Shannon Rutherford on the ABC television series Lost as well as Kim Mills in the Taken trilogy. Maggie Grace was born in Worthington in Ohio. She was kicked out of high school after her parents divorced to go into Los Angeles to live with her mother. As she struggled financially, she was able to land her first role as Rachel's Room's main character the web-based video show Rachel's Room in the year 2001. In 2002, she was nominated for an Young Artist Award with her role as 15-year old murdered Martha Moxley. Grace Rutherford played Shannon Rutherford for Lost's first two seasons in 2004 and she shared with her a Screen Actors Guild Award (with all the other actors) with her. The actress has also appeared in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club and in 2007 and in Taken with Liam Neeson in 2008 as Kim Mills. However it was her performance as Rachel Dawes that brought her greater attention for her performance in The Dark Knight (2008). The debut of Gyllenhaal as a filmmaker and writer took place in 2021, with The Lost Daughter, a psycho-drama in which she won an award at the Venice International Film Festival Best Screenplay Award.
